Gizmodo.com - The Gadget Guide
Yes y’all! The Gizmodo Gallery has returned to NYC with a slew of nifty gadgets and amazing inventions. Sharri and tried the Chefstack Pancake Machine on multiple occasions, and it was
deliciousness y’all. We also got tossed back into our childhood with the Lego wall and creation area. I remember having a huge box full of legos as a child. I also remember being chased by the adults in my family who frequently had legos lodged in their feet. ::Cackle::
The 900 pound big screen TV was a treat to watch as people played Beetles Rockband and Street Fighter. The 3d Etch – a – Sketch was a visual delight and just plain fun.
ArcAttack, a band who uses Tesla coils along with their music, performed various songs for the crowd, from Mario and Zelda themes, to pop songs like Sexyback.
September 27th is the last day so haul ass and become a geek for a day.

High Life on the High Line

2009-05-29 / Без рубрики / 0 Comments

Once an abandoned 1.45 mile stretch of elevated freight train railroad now my soon to be new summer picnic spot, The High Line, will once again serve the people of New York City.

The High Line was built in the 1930’s by The New York Central Railroad and used to transport freight along the west side. The New York Central stopped use of the High Line in the 1980’s and the elevated structure fell into disrepair.
The community-based group Friends of the High Line had the idea to transform the abandoned High Line into a green park space and in 2004 The New York City Government commited $50 million to start the park project.

The section of The High Line from Gansevoort St to 20th street is scheduled to open in June 2009 and I will have my picnic basket ready and the cameras charged. The entire High Line Park from Gansevoort St to 30th St is expected to open 2010.

The High Line is a pedestrian only park, no bikes and no runners. It’s reserved for sitting, stropping, talking, and picnicking, cartwheeling and impromptu amateur photoshoots.

SO COME FIERCE!!
